It rained and rained today. We got between 5 and 6 inches. The lake was really full as were the feeder ponds. Our boiler room had a leak due to a well window filling with water under the sun room. we got the water up and just have to put things back but first I need to get the cover back over the window. It was a mess but at least we were home and it didn’t get out of control.
The youngest’s mentor was at the house again today. It was not an expected visit and made it a little rough as I was hoping for some family time. I am worried he is becoming more of a buddy than an adult or authority figure to him. But that is for the caseworker to figure out.
I got very little sleep again today due to the storms and Anika being afraid. Hopefully tomorrow there won’t be as much thunder.
George McGovern says: Quote -In the war of his youth, the Vietnam War, Cheney got five deferments and has never seen a day of combat — a record matched by President Bush,-unquote and yet they have sent over 36 hundred young men and women to die in combat.

Why is it that every time I hear George W. Bush speak I want to power puke?
Congratulations to the Vermont Senate on their vote to impeach Bush even if it is a non-binding resolution. Also, BRAVO-ZULU to Rep Dennis Kucinich on his plan to introduce impeachement articles against that prick Cheney.
Although both are symbolic jesters, it proves that some of our Politicians actually have some balls.

I am so happy, I got about 6 or 7 hours of good sleep today, the first good amount since last week.
I guess there will be an influx of emails about the Virginia Tech shootings starting as soon as everyone gets their power point presentations set up. It seems like anytime something happens people feel the need to send out hundreds of emails with pictures, prayers and what not to everyone they know, expecting them to forward them on to everyone they know. I have never been able to understand why people just cant let things end and be done. I am sure I will be using the delete key a lot in the next few weeks.

We saw the strangest thing the other day as we were taking one of the boys to the doctor. We saw a man with his Shopvac Vacuuming his grass. Yes it was real grass, not Brady Bunch grass. I almost ran off the road I was laughing so hard.
My body is hurting. I have not really slept in over 48 hours. My blood pressure is 190 over 120 and my blood sugar has been close to 300 the past couple of days. The situation in the house is a mess. I hope something happens soon as I don’t know how much longer Dawnell and I will make it.

What would the Founding Fathers say if they could know about all the shootings going on in the country and the easy access to weapons. Do you think they actually intended our children to have easy access to guns where they can take them to school and shoot other children.
Its time for someone to stand up to the NRA and the other gun nuts and do something about it.

Is being gay a choice? A conference held in Omaha on Saturday sought to show that there is a way for homosexuals to become ex-gays. In a conference called “Love Won Out,” Focus on the Family promoted what it calls, “The truth that change is possible for those who experience same-sex attractions.” A day of speakers stood up to talk about their conversion from gay to straight, including Melissa Fryrear.
“Maybe in the bigger picture, the journey of overcoming homosexuality is such a similar journey to other followers of Christ,” she said. “One of our hopes of this conference is to help men and women who are dissatisfied living homosexually.”Fryrear said that for her, God’s love won out in the end and changed her after 10 years of being a lesbian.
“I saw that living homosexually is incompatible with my understanding of the Bible,” she said.About 1,000 people turned out at Trinity Interdenominational Church to hear the speakers. Some are family and friends of homosexuals.
Twaina Carpenter is a Christian counseling student at Grace University. She said she learned something that will benefit her in her work.“We do have to meet them where they are. We can’t push the Bible in their face. We can’t continue to bash them over the head with scripture,” Carpenter said.
Local gay activist Mike Patrick said Love Won Out only serves to make gays feel isolated. Patrick led a protest of the conference.“If you’re constantly telling people that they have this condition that need to be fixed, then that’s not going to lead them to be happy,” Patrick said. “We just wanted to be a visible presence of gay and gay-friendly people who are happy and don’t have a problem with it.”
Shawn O’Donnell calls himself an “ex-ex-gay.”“I spent 10 years trying to change myself, change my sexuality, praying, reading the Bible,” O’Donnell said. He said that trying to be straight almost killed him and was against his nature.
“Can people really change? I don’t think so,” he said. Fryrear said she disagrees. “It’s a pursuit in your heart for holiness,” she said.Several churches joined together to bring the conference to Omaha.
